How to apply

STEP 1 - Choosing your course

In order to apply for a course at Cardiff College International you will need to choose a course from our International Prospectus. Do you want to study English or a Mainstream course? Do you want to study part-time or full-time? If you cannot find the course or the information that you are looking for please contact us.

STEP 2- Completing an application form

You will need to fill in an application form, which you can download from the website. Please ensure that you enclose all the documents requested with your form. Your application cannot be processed unless it is fully completed. Any missing documents will delay the process.

For students applying for English courses we aim to give a decision within one week. Mainstream applications take a little longer but we aim to inform you of the decision within ten days.

If you would like the College to arrange Homestay accommodation for you, contact Natalia Mulley by email on mulley_n@glan-hafren.ac.uk and ask for a Homestay Application Pack.

STEP 3 - Your offer letter

Once the decision has been made an offer letter will be issued and posted to your address. In the cases where an offer cannot be made a letter explaining the alternatives will be also sent.

STEP 4 - Booking your place

Once you receive the offer letter you should accept it by signing the acceptance form and returning it to the college. At this stage payment must be made in order to book your place. Payments can be made by cheque, cash or bank transfer. Please note that card payments can only be made in person at the college. Bank transfer is the quickest method of payment from overseas.

If you applied for Homestay you must pay a deposit of £100 together with your course fees.

STEP 5 - Obtaining your visa (Non EU students only)

As soon as the payment has been confirmed by our Finance department we will issue an acceptance letter. This letter can be used to apply for a student visa.

Please keep the college informed at all times of the progress of your visa application and your date of arrival.

If you are experiencing any problems or delays please let us know and if there is anything we can do to help we will do so.

STEP 6 - Welcome to Cardiff College International

Your enrolment dates will be detailed in your pre arrival documents or acceptance letter, however if you have any queries, please get in touch.  The International office is open throughout the summer, so you can get in touch as soon as you arrive.
